Channel Catfish
Channel Catfish are an excellent choice to stock in your pond.
Contrary to popular belief, they will not muddy your water when
stocked at recommended levels. However, we do not
recommend stocking any other Catfish species for various
reasons. Channel Cats can be caught throughout the warm
months of the year. They are fun to catch good to eat and take to
commercial fish food readily. Channel Catfish typically do not
reproduce in most farm ponds and will have to be replaced as
needed.
